Esta luz, símbolo superior de lo Absoluto, es imperceptible a los ojos profanos, pero se deja sentir por todo aquel que busca con la mirada interior el sentido trascendental de su vida.”
LUX versa sobre la Iluminación. Esta serie de retratos fotográficos presenta la iluminación en una forma dual. Una literal — a través de un foco de luz sobre el rostro — y la otra teológica mediante unos modelos que buscan por contemplación interior una verdad trascendental. Estas dos vías de iluminación — una óptica y la otra espiritual— son reflejo de la dialéctica descrita por Arnold Hauser entre la expresividad objetiva y la intimidad subjetiva. Dicha dialéctica es condicio sine qua non de toda obra de arte verdadero. Estos retratos surgen de la necesidad de Perona de conjugar lo inmanente y lo transcendente a través de la luz, entendida ésta como la esencia fundamental del Arte de la Fotografía, y como el símbolo más representativo del carácter divino del ser humano.

Illumination in this series is dual. One is explicit — a spotlight over the face of the subjects — and the other is metaphorical, by using the expressiveness of the models to convey an introspective search for profound truth.This series was conceived by Perona’s need for merging immanence and transcendence through the means of light. Perona understands Light in his work as the essence of the Art of Photography and the most representative symbol of the divine character of the human being.
